Public Works / Street Maintenance Worker

The City of Dunn Public Works Department is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Street Maintenance Worker. This individual performs varied tasks vital to the overall upkeep of our City’s streets; will assist with storm water, paving, concrete work, right-of-way maintenance, and other related duties; must be able to drive trucks and operate light and medium equipment needed for the job. Responsibilities include, ability to serve on-call and respond in a timely manner to emergency situations (including week nights, weekends and holidays). Work subject to extreme hot and cold weather.

  • Minimum Requirements
    Candidate must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid North Carolina Driver License. A Class B CDL License is a plus.
  • Benefits Include

  • Starting Salary Range
    $17.20 per hour

Dunn was originally called "Lucknow" and was renamed in 1873

The city of Dunn was incorporated on February 12, 1887, at which time it was a logging town and a turpentine distilling center. The name honors Bennett Dunn, who supervised the construction of the railway line between Wilson and Fayetteville.
